CCC members are not-for-profit or charitable organizations who meet the accreditation and membership standards of CCC. This common bond of not-for-profit status ensures that all member activities remain focused on assisting those in need, providing timely, objective and useful help.
CCC believes accreditation is essential in ensuring an excellent credit counselling experience. Therefore, it is mandatory for all member agencies. CCC uses outcome-based assessment tools that apply uniform operational standards to member agencies across Canada. We regulate and monitor:
- Organizational Integrity
- Financial Responsibility
- Risk Management
- Human Resources
- Program Delivery
In addition to ongoing organizational compliance, all counselling staff must achieve an Accredited Financial Counsellor Canada® designation and comply with our Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice established and monitored by our accreditation process.
